Need weekend help

[No diagnosis]

I had ACDF surgery on 4 days ago and I developed a rash on my lower neck and chest area.  The incision looks OK.  Could this be an allergic reaction to steri strips, tape, or betadine solution?  Or even the soft collar I was given to wear.   have benadryl cream.  Is it OK to use as long as I keep it away from the incision?  Or should I use calomine lotion or hydrocortisone cream?  I will call the doctor on Monday but the itching is terrible.

I am sorry if my question was not appropriate.  However, I assumed that since the forum title was back and spine surgery that it might be answered.  So how do you deal with patients that you operate on that have these type symptoms.  Do you call in yet another specialist?
