lap band surgery and removal

I was wondering does anyone ever have the lap band surgery with intentions of getting it removed after they reach their goal weight?

lap band surgery should be considered a permanent solution and not something to have "undone" when you achieve yr goal weight
There is a significant risk of weight regain over time w the band even when it remains in place so once it is in, it should stay in forever!
