23yr old female hair loss

23yr old female hair loss

Im only 23 years old and all of the sudden my hair has been falling out in large amounts.  I haven't seen any bold spots but my hair has always been thin and is falling out to the point where I can't even run my fingers through my hair without pulling out clumps.  What can I do to stop this??

you might want your doctors to check your hormone levels, an off balance can cause hair loss, also check your thyroid levels as well

have you been losing weight? or had a change in your diet? pregnant? all those can also contribute

def call your dr.  stress, diet, disease and hormones can be the culprit...

Do you throw up food? That is one of the signs.

Have your thyroid checked and have a complete bloodwork done. Any other symptoms are you having? Have you lost weight, skipped periods, change in your diet or exercise? Is your hair feeling any different, more britttle or dry?

Ive lost 25 pounds  for the last 5 months but trying  to eat healthy Not that I stopped eating at all!. I dont eat too much, but what I eat is mostly a lot of vegetables, fruit, oatmeals.Just healthy stuff. For the last 4 months everything was ok, Ive got a beautiful, clean skin, my hair was shiny and strong. But since two weeks ago I started observing loosing hair in large amounts like never before. I dont know what to do with it 'cause if I dont do anything straight away- soon I will be bald for sure:( Im scared:( And I dont know how to stop loosing hair, cause I really eat healthy:(:( Im lost then:(:(:(:(:( I dont know what to eat then?:/ To be honest-since two months I have got problems with regular periods,I mean-no periods,or just a little bit blood for one,two days- but I was thinking that this is because of I moved to the USA, changing the climat ,changing my lifestyle...
What Im gonna do is-Im gonna eat more, but it takes time,I cant eat everything once:/ so what Id like to ask you is-can you give me any advise how to stop loosing hair for now, what kind of vitamins or medications should I get before I loose all my hair?
Please! Id be really grateful.!
and please, forgive me my English, but Im still learning your language.

Try biotin and increase your protien intake. You can find biotin in the drug stores. Go for the highest potency one. Then make an appt with your doctor because it is really a symptoms of something else. Have you been trying to lose weight? Are you underweight? Are you overweight still? Polycystic Ovarian Disease also has symptoms of hair loss and irregular periods. You are not doing a low carb diet are you? Have your thyroid checked along with a regular checkup. Good luck and if you find an answer let me know.

Im 24 and the same thing happened to me, they said I had a thyriod disorder, and eventually it ALL fell out and i was completely bald, it was scary- and then it grew back a few months later ( I was baby bald for a good three months too) and now i have about two inches- and its starting to fall out again! I had my levels checked, and dr. said everything is fine... im concerned its happening all over again!

I was always healthy, im thin, not skinny, and I started eating healthy too, trying to cut the **** out of my diet, wasnt sure, maybe thats relevant because you had mentioned the same thing. Did they ever figure out what it was? I had beautiful healthy thick hair, and it shed over a period of like three months, and lost it all, at first slow, and then towards the end it was clumping out, and eventually nothing was left, even my eyebrows.
it was awful. no dr seemed to be able to make it stop.

I  used to color my hair a lot and of course you know that is damaging, i also work at a natural health food store and we sell supplement and i have been recently trying to grow my hair out and the people in supplements suggested a product called Biotin, it is a b- complex that you would only take once a day and it is fairly cheap, and what it does helps with your skin, hair and nails, with hair it helps thicken and grow the hair so maybe this will help you. it does take some time to work but just keep taking it and it should help, i know a lot of older women take it too. and if your on birth control or anything of the sort i talked with a pharmacist and they said it wont affect anything... I hope it helps :)

if you do get it get one that is 5000mcg i know you can get a bottle of 120 for around $6 or $7 at wal-mart.
