Are my nails trying to tell me something

I have suffered from dysphagia for 1 year and 7 months.  My nails have developed beaus lines, and they are in color kinda of white in the middle, with a red or pink ring around the top of the nail.  Also, the moons that rest at the bottom of nail next to the cuticle are gone.  I only have the moons on my thumbs.  Can this be a serious sign of something caused from the dysphagia or from another illness?

Generaaly that is a sign of calcium defficiency I believe. Have you tried supplements?

Sounds identical to my nails, and I actually suffer from calcium deficiency. (I'm lactose intolerant and really bad at taking supplements) You could talk to your doctor about it if you're worried about, but in my case it's not been anything I care to even bother with.

Could be also an iron deficiency, but it is still better to ask your doctor.

There is actually alot of calcium in vegetables, nuts and popular snacks. Not so much in milk actually.

Use kale, almonds, beans (pinto and black), black eye peas, buckwheat, chick peas, collards (raw leaves),  dandelion greens, hazelnuts, MOLASSES, Pistachio nuts, SESAME SEEDS.. etc.

Yes....but I also don't eat them. I know what different foods contain. And I know how to get them. Since I don't eat much of them, I'm on supplements.

Did you know that one of the things a doctor will always do in a checkup is check your nails. Yes, the condition of them are indicative of what is going on or not going on inside our bodies. I would suggest a calcium supplement as well and next time you are at the doctor ask him if the condition of your nails is a result of your health problem.

Where do you find doctors that thorough?  In the midwest you are lucky to find a general physician who can tie his shoes without help.

Well, I am of the old school. Back when doctors took the time! Oh, the memories! lol
Now days they just give you a script and pass you to the next doc for his share of the wealth.
