Having a foundation crisis :-(

Having a foundation crisis :-(

Hey, i am after some advice/help if you can help me please.

I am 29 yr from the uk, with quite fair skin, natural kind of tan. I am having problems with foundations, i had red cheeks and broken veins around my nose (also some around my cheeks), so i must wear foundation to cover them, or i look all blotchy.  I have tried so many different ones, dermablend, estee lauder (most recent).  And i also used the green stick aswel as the green liquid.  This is what happens, i will try and explain it as best as i can.

My forehead is all dry, when i apply foundation to that area it looks like my skin is peeling, But i must apply some to this area as my face looks different colors, my nose looks also is a little dry and peels off, and my cheeks when i apply the green liquid/stick also goes dry and patchy, then i put either a tinted mosteriser or use my recent foundation of estee lauder coverage my face feels oily, it's like it just goes into patches like i put water on cerain parts?

I always use black head clean and scrub (with microbeads) every 2 days, also oil of oily facial wash, and i use oil of oily with spf daily mosteriser every time i apply makeup.. And in the evening when i washed my face.. And ever 2 evenings i apply estee lauder syrum.. But still the problem arises.

Please help.  I just want my face to be one color and look smooth :-)

Have you tried using a mask? Try one for dry skin. Then moisturize before going to bed, again in the am and let it sit on your face for a few minutes before putting on your foundation. You might also try an oil based foundation, this sometimes helps. Bobby Brooks has a good foundation and I particularly like bare minerals for the flawless look it gives. You can research both of these on the internet. If after doing these things, with no success, you might want to visit a dermatologist.

I would try foundation @ www.mulberrytwist.com.  I don't know if they ship to the UK... but the coverage is amazing on rosacea and acne scarring.

Also, I quit using the "green stick" and it helped with my foundation coverage and the dryness.

Good Luck!

Maybe just apply a normal moisteriser to the areas that are dry. Have you tried "Blemish stick" This covers any blotchy, spotty, off colour areas. If all fails. I suggest drinking plenty of water daily. It will take a few weeks, but is very good for the skin.

Hi, i have the same problem, as my skin is dry.
People with dry skin need to apply cream before the foundation,
i've tried mixing up my foundation with cream when im late for work
- its easier to apply, but the dry patches still show.
i personally use Revlon "Color stay" i think it works for me as its oily(great for dry skin), not too thick, so you can't even tell i've got it on me :)
i'd say scrub every 2 days is too much, as far as i know you're supposed to use it 1-2 a week.

Your skin is like mine. I'm oily on my nose, dry between my eyebrows & nose and normal everywhere else...

I  would advise washing your face with lemon. Squeeze it into a cotton ball and scrub. If it stings you can dilute it with water. Using lemon juice directly from a lemon is best. If you want more of a scrub you can add a little bit of sugar...

Lemon works for the removal of dead skin cells. Lemons work with discoloration, freckles, age spots. black heads, sun spots and acne.. Basically it makes your face really soft and eventually doing it over time will improve the appearance of the skin. Lemon kills bacteria and help cleanse the skin. It really gets rid of oils and dry skin.

After washing your face with lemon use a really light face moisturizer.

Next use a concealer for spots and broken veins. Don't use too much just directly on where it is. Then use a tiny bit of foundation and buff (circular soft motions) it in with a MAC 188 brush. VERY LITTLE. You want to look natural not cakey. Then you can use a powder to go over, very light. Volia!

Perhaps too much makeup is whats the problem or too harsh of face washes can do it.

Anyways, if you want to know what I use just message me. I hope this will help you.. :D
