I never do. I have dark hair and get my hair lightened and I have never seen an effect from swimming afterwards. I mean I have never done it the same day but I have gone the next.
Thanks for your response. Some crazy lady at the pool the other day told me some story about her daughter getting highlights, and swimming, and the highlights dissapeared. I have never heard anything like that before, and highly questioned her reliablity. I am getting them done tomorrow, again, thanks for your respone.
As a hairdresser I wouldn't go swimming just after having it done. No way! The chlorine could cause your hightlights to turn brassy or at worst greenGreen tea. Just after having it done your hair becomes porous. Wet it down when you do go to prevent absorbtion of chlorine. Think of your hair as a sponge. A dry sponge soaks up alot of water but a wet one soaks up none! Good luck!
