Minimizing dark under-eye circles

I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to minimize dark circles that appear under the eye.  I know my dark circles must be caused by genetics because I get plenty of rest so I know that is not the reason.  I have tried several different types of under eye creams and makeups, but nothing seems to work.  Any advice?  Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

do you have access to a Mac cosmetic counter?? they are at the Bay.  it is by far the best makeup, and they have really good undereye concealers. you get a lot for your money and it will last forever.  find a match for you and try it. it's about the only thing that's worked for me!

I have also heard good things about mac makeup. If you have macy's in your area they sell mac cosmetics.
My sister told be about an under eye cream from Avon. She said it's under 10 dollars and works really good on lightning up dark circles. I am sorry I don't remember the name.

your welcome goatgirl!! MAC has girls there, they will sit you down and find exactly what you need for free!! it's really great.it's really good quality stuff too. hope you find something soon!!! I've tried things like chamomile tea bags, potatoes, nothing worked for me either. I know what you mean how even when you get enough rest it doesnt help.

A thing to note, dark circles could also be a symptom of a deficiency in a vitamin or a mineral, it could be hormonal also. Check your liver and kidney function. Remember to have your general check ups at your doctor. Be healthy..;)

I struggled with dark under eye circles for years and came across two products that work really well.  One is called Hydroxatone - Under Eye Cream (made with Haloxyl and Matrixyl 3000).   It is the Haloxyl in this product that is great for reducing under eye darkness.

The other is Crème de la Mer – The Eye Balm (made with a unique photonic complex that redirects and softens light).

I use Hydroxatone at night and Crème de la Mer during the day – both are great products that have helped me a lot – look them up for more details.

Other than that, drink plenty of water.  A lot of the darkness around the eyes (for me) is due to dehydration.  Years back I wasn't feeling well, so I went to the hospital  - I was admitted for dehydration.  I looked like a racoon when I got here, but I left without any circles under my eyes whatsoever.  Hydration makes all the difference.

I don't use make-up under my eyes at all anymore, so something is working.

I forgot to mention -- if these suggestions fail, get checked for allergies.

If you prefer to stear clear of expensive creams, here's a natural remedy I like to use that consists of equal amounts of Almond Oil, Coconut Oil and Lemon Juice.  Mix and apply with a cotton ball under the eyes.  It smells so amazing you'll look forward to applying it.  I like to do this in the eving hours, but don't sleep with it on - instead wipe it off with a tissue after about an hour.  Then wash and moisturize as you normally would before bed.  I like to apply Vaseline under the eyes to lock in moisture.  Hope this helps!

I work as a model and I always watch how the make up artist hide my Dark!!!!  circles.  I have used Laura mercier (sp?) under eye camoflague concealer.  If you cant get rid of them this stuff hides them really well!!!! Mix it with oil of olay eye serum and it makes it more liquidy if you are like me and dont want it to cake into your wrinkles!  Nars is also another brand that I see make up people use a lot but I am not sure of what specifically!!

have a look at http://www.rootsherbal.com
They have treatment for everything including  dark circles under eyes, puffy bags under eyes, stretch marks, vitiligo etc and they also have a good feedback on ebay. Worth a look.

I have used Vita-K under eye gel before, and it worked really well EXCEPT after a few days, my eyes felt irritated so I would stop for a couple of days and then start back. They have it at most drug stores and I think Wal-Mart carries it also.

Something for you here.. you can visit this web site http://www.mydarkcirclesblog.com . I know you are looking for cosmetics but as someone mentioned here, dark circles often seem to be linked to allergies. Also, I never used to have any - except during one year that I drank diet soda for the first time. After I stopped the  dark circles went away.

Here is a great free eye serum for dark circles that I found recently ( for US only though). You can get Hydroderm Eye Serum Anti-Aging Eye Complex  (http://www.freeproductssample.com/hydroderm-eye-serum-trial-offer/) value $60 Free with only $3.6 for S/H.
And if you have wrinkles, Hydroderm Patented Anti Aging Free Trial ( http://www.freeproductssample.com/hydroderm-patented-anti-aging-free-trial/ ) would be a good choice as well.

I would suggest to save your money and avoid those fancy expensive creams, try to identify the underlying cause such as allergies, and trust me they can be TRICKY, i would suggest to get both skin and blood allergy tests because both of them can miss some allergens, i found sum great info at darkcircles.net and http://www.whydarkcircles.com - good luck
