Shampoo for Oily Hair?

Shampoo for Oily Hair?

Okay, every time I go buy shampoo all I find is moisturizing shampoo.  My hair is naturally really oily.  They say not to wash it every day, but If I skip just one day I look like I dumped a bottle of greese in it.  Does anyone have advice on what products to use?

Use a shampoo for body.  This won't be heavy.  Also, I don't know many people who skip a day for washing.  They say it is better for hair, maybe that is if you don't move or sweat ever or go out of your house.   I know if I even tried I would look like an oil slick.

Shampooing your hair twice will also help.

Usually I wouldn't respond to a post about hair, but in this case you are definatly getting wrong information.  First of all, the more often you remove the natural oils from your scalp the more oil your scalp will produce.  Second of all, if you have naturally oily scalp/hair you need GOOD SALON SHAMPOO.  See a hairdresser who can look at your hair and recommend a good product and use it as he/she directs you.  Drugstore shampoos give you drugstore results.  It is perfectly acceptable to shampoo ONCE everyday, but please no more than that and at least as often as every other day.  I strongly urge you to see a hairdresser about this matter.

make sure you aren't overdoing it with styling products or conditioners. I would just shampoo and use a light conditioning spray in for  while. Also you can strip your hair with a dish detergent to get some of the gunk that's built up in you hair out. Be sure to use a heavier conditioner the day you do it but don't let the conditioner sit in your hair too long, just use it to detangle. That works for me when my hair seems to be getting greasier and greasier. It's just product build up. I strip my hair once to twice a year.

I've had that problem before and I was having to wash my hair EVERY day! Which sux cuz it's naturaly curly and hard to deal with. I learned washing it to much does make it produce more oil. So I pulled a super model trick... Baby powder. I used baby powder on my hair to soak up the oil and make it look freshly washed. I was washing my hair every other day and using the baby powder in between. After a couple of weeks my hair quit producing so much oil, and now naturaly I'm back to washing my hair on a normal regular basis without it looking greasy.

Use only mild shampoo. Rinse your hair using Luke warm water. If it's too oily, add lemon juice in the Luke warm water. I hope it works on you. :)

My husband has had the same problem. A lady at a local beauty supply store recommended Prell shampoo. It has really helped.
