Underarm whitening

Hi I used to shave my underarm but now I wax it because shaving caused it to darken. After waxing using peel off strips, my underarm got irritated because of the pain and now it is red on the side of my left underarm. Its been a few weeks already and the redness got a little less but it is still there. It is not painful but it still has not gone away. It is obvious when i wear sleeveless because it is right on the border where you can see it. Please let me know what i can do about this. thanks

Hi, being a medical aesthetician I think I can help.  First of all, are you waxing your underarms by yourself?  It sounds as if you are irritating your skin too much. Either way, the next time follow these steps: 1) clean underarms with alcohol ,dry 2) Apply a little bit baby powder under arms(make sure skin is not damp)  3) apply wax in direction of hair growth 4) apply strip and peel off really fast and close to skin.  
Instead of waxing ( I'm not a big fan of), I would highly reccommend that you get yourself an EPILATOR.  It looks like an electric shaver with maybe about 20-30 tweezer tips on it that spin, as they spin they pull out the hair.  I do my nderarms in less than 1 minute, no joke.  And the best thing about it is that you don't have to wait for the hair to fully grow back before you remove it.  It works great on stubble too. Look into it as it will give you better results without any consequences.  You will not be dissappointed. (Please note that it will hurt at first until you get used to it and also, make sure to trim long hair first before epilating it.  Good Luck

Hi, sorry, I forgot to mention that yes, after a while, waxing will not only discolour your skin but it also makes it stretch and also causes spider veins ( broken cappillaries) wherever you use it.
