acne problem and face wash

i get a lot of acnes on my skin and my friend who works at the pharmacy told me to wash my face at night time with Povidone-Iodine scrub this is the 3rd day and yes it has improve my face i hardly have much acnes left but the problem is i would like to know if it is safe to use ? This is the first time i ever heard of this item as a face wash so i was really worried about it and if it was safe at all.

I have heard recently that the fluoride in water can make a acne like rash come up around your mouth where is the acne on your face ?

On my forehead and cheeks and chin i also have some on my chest now

It sounds safe enough.  It might dry your skin out a bit.  Here is the official description:

"Povidone-Iodine Scrub is an antiseptic bactericidal / virucidal sudsing skin cleanser for pre-operative and post-operative scrubbing or washing by hospital operating personnel and for general use in the physician's office."

I would only use it to the point where your skin is clear, and then wouldn't use it until the next breakout, rather than using it all the time, so the antiseptic effect remains strong.  But it doesn't sound like it actually has antibiotics in it, so long-term use should be OK.

have you ever tried Clearasil(hope i spell that rite). when i had acne. i used that it' come with scrub n' also as fash wash too. It also claims to clear the acne, in 3 days. It really worked on me. i used that morning n' at night, 2 times. Hope it helps !!

No never heard of it. where i live we dont have a lot of products i guess but i have witch hazel i don't know how i should use it
