I HAVE CHLORINE BUILD UP IN MY HAIR A FRIEND SUGGESTED I MAKE A PASTE OUT OF BAKING SODA AND LEAVE IT IN MY HAIR FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES DID THAT NOW MY HAIR IS SO DRY I CAN NOT GET A BRUSH THROUGH IT WHAT DO I DO ?
Honey.. Just your Screen name says that you SHOULD be a BLONDE... Not sure what to tell you on that subject as I am just a FROG-FUZZED MOUSEY BROWN....
(BUT.. I DO know that Baking Soda dries out just about everything......hey... try a littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys mayo.. heard that is suppose to help with the dry hair thang...)
There are special shampoos which remove chlorine in your hair. Try calling a local outdoors or sports store which carries bathing suits and swim paraphenalia. That would definitely be better for your hair. Try it! Good luck!!
if you wet your hair and then take a spray bottle with equal part of water and white vinegar and spray it on your hair evenly. You can comb it thru to get an equal distribution, but make sure your saturate well. Then leave it while you take your shower, the hot steam from the shower will help it penetrate your hair shaft. Then towards the end of the shower put some shampoo in your hair - don't rinse the vinegar until you are finished shampooing and it will rinse with the shampoo. If necessary you can lightly shampoo a second time.
Follow with conditioner.
This is also good to do it your hair gets a build up from shampoos, conditioners or medications. Its actually good to do at least once a month even if you don't have chlorine in your hair. It works much better than the clarifying shampoos and of course is much cheaper.
