Hi, I can tell you that I don't like loofahs at all, they tend to mold and smell after a while.  My suggestion to you would be to get yourself a NYLON bath glove.  There are some excellent ones out there and they do a fantastic job at exfoliating.  I can tell you that I have had mine now for about 15 years ( no joking) and it has not fallen apart or it dosn't smell and it's not molded.  It was th best $8.00 I've ever spent.  Try It.  Good Luck
