facial waxing reaction- help please

Hi- I got my eybrows and upper lip waxed yesterday. I have had this done many times and usually I get a little red and it goes away about a day or so later. BUT yesterday after my upper lip wax my face was burning very bad and very very red. THE WORST PART IS I AM GETTING MARRIED IN ONE WEEK.  I washed with Cetaphil, Iced it last night for a while and also I keep putting Neosporin on it. When i woke up this morning it was still very red- a little better but still very red and very dry. ANY HELP OR SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE MUCH MUCH APPREICATED.
THANKS.

Hi, I have been through the very same thing, not the marrying part but burning red dry upper lip thingi.. tell me about it! The best thing you can do is to use a light skin moisturize on your upper lip, that will make your lip soft, take away the dryness and make it heal faster. Don't worry about the wedding it will be gone by then! But my  STRONGEST advice is, do not touch it all the time and don't put on too many different things. That will just annoy your skin and make it stay red by that reason.

Good luck

hey, it happens the same way with me very often. but normally its gone in a day or two, i asked one dermatologist, n he advised me to peel-off hair removing strips instead of waxing. but i didn't find those strips quite effective. so i normally apply moisturizer every time after i am done with my waxing.. may be this tip will be helpful for you.

Hi Ladies,
Next time you should ask for Hard Wax instead of Strips Wax because Hard Wax are made for sensitive areas of your face ( fine hair) and Strips Wax works better on your body areas (thicker hair).
