skin lightening

I have always used skin lighteners on my face only because my face was darker than the rest of my body and I continued to use them throughout pregnancy and breastfeeding. The particular creams I used contained 2% hydroquinone. My baby had a low brth weight but everything else was fine. However my baby now has different skin tones with a distinct dark skinned body and a light skinned face. Could this have been caused by those creams I used and if so what can I do to correct it?

I was looking into products with HQ for my own use, but was concerned about health affects.  Have you checked with your pediatrician to see if anything even needs correcting?  Maybe as your baby grows, the skintone all over his/her body will even out.
