Last couple days has been really hard for me and my nails have been paying the price thats all i want to do is bite  my nails plus it does not help that my car is broke down so i cant leave the house to do something differnet beside sit in front of the tv and bite my nails, i guess im nervous about how much it's going to cost to get my starter rebuilt, plus yesterday was a year my dad had past. plus my seven year old is bored to deaf cause there is nothing to do my hubby is at work til late tonight, but is nail biting common among bp people.
I have bitten my nails since i was 2, so has been a life long problem, i tried to stop but it doesn't work.

Nail biting is a habit.  Usually people do it to relieve anxiety.  They also just do it because it's a habit and don't even realize they are doing it.  Or out of boredom.  I pop my knuckles.  Have been since I was a kid.  I like the way it feels.  You sound stressed out and need some sort of release.  You also sound pretty antsy.  Put band aids on all your fingers.  Might as well put band aids on your 7 year old.  Kids get a kick out of that stuff.  Sorry about your car.  Anyways, to answer your question, in my opinion, I don't think nail biting is a symptom of BP.   :)

Yep its a habit not a symptom and its apparently almost always anxiety - my wife suffers from it and I keep telling her im going to cut her fingers off.. Yes i am joking about that bit.

Mind you she is jealous that I am the one who breaks nails in this house, mine just grow very fast.

Sounds like a fun time there and you have just described mutliple stressors - the best way to deal with anxiety like that is just find something to take your mind off it, something to do - Its probably cold there so a walk might not be best (wish it was cold here !) but just change anything and see if that can take your mind off it - it works suprisingly well.

Failing that there is always valium.  And you might take some as well :)  Hang in there ok.
