No - GOOD GRIEF NO! It made me go into one of the most manic episodes of my life. I was being treated for depression and ADD before properly diagnosed with BPI. I literally felt like I was losing my mind.
If you are BP, talk to your doctor about taking Adderall or Adderall XR - my new Pdoc had a fit about my Adderall XR. Wanted me off immediately.
Are you taking for anxiety or ADD/ADHD?

This is new to me. I know that SSRI are not recommended for BP, neither tricyclics to the least as they bring mania usually. But i also heard that welbutrin is tolerated by BP yet it's a stimulant too. Not knowing the exact meaning of stimulant against SSRI, i wonder whether welbutrin triggers mania too, and where to look in literatture for this sort of relationship (stimulantmania)
thanks ezz
Adderall is a psycho-stimulant used to treat attentional deficits and/or ADHD. IT is not a bipolar med and may actually trigger a manic episode due to the stimulant qualities ESPECIALLY in children. Bipolars are supposed to stay away from caffeine and sugar and other stimulants as well. There are several studies showing the negative effects of stimulants on bipolars so be weary.
