Anyone else had their first MANIC episode @50?

I was diagnosed last yr during a hospitalization for full blown mania complete with hallucinations and delusions.  In hind sight I am guessing I experienced hypomania as *normal good mood*.  Is there anyone else that never experienced full blown mania until menopause?

To cinaed907 I have never heard of that happening, but I am sure it has happened to someone else before. With all the people in the world with bipolar I am sure it is possible, and everyone experiances it in different ways. I do believe I have heard sometimes bipolar gets worse with age, and that has been my experiance with it.

Sorry I had my first episode @ around 30. I had a friend who had some mania in her 40's. I'm sure you're not alone. Mania comes on from a trigger.
