Being self absorbed

So is being self absorbed in my own problems, is that part of bipolar? Or is this just a phase? LOL.

I also agree with Tyzer33. It's like wearing two different sets of glasses, one situation can seem two completly different ways depending on your mood and level of confidence. I have gone from having it all figured out and confident one day to completely convinced I can't do it and what the hell was I thinking???Scary thing is...which one is right?
How can anyone live like this? Especially when you're trying to make important decisions and really no one else can help you. I also find I get so absorbed and focused on something that is really a problem but I can't stop my mind from worrying and I know I can drive everyone else crazy. It's sad! No one really knows what we go through!

No you're right, you are not alone!  Tyzer33 said it best, the bipolar plays tricks with your mind, it stinks but can be helped with the right tools & meds. Have you reviewed your meds with your doctor lately? Maybe something needs changing up a bit? Just a suggestion.

I think our problems are amplified by our bipolar so we tend to fall into ourselves a lot. I don't think you do it on purpose. Sometimes when my meds weren't right I would get really bad like that but once they fixed the meds, it's not as bad but it's still there. I just remind myself I'm not the only one with problems. But it is hard to remember other people have issues too when your issues are really big to you. I guess what I'm trying to say is I undertsnd and feel the same way at times. Don't beat yourself up, this is a disease and it plays around with our minds, we can't control all of it.
Hope you're feeling better soon.

In my personal experience being self absorbed in your own problems is a big part of bipolar. I really struggled for around 1/2 a year to try and get my head around being that way. The best thing i found was having a talk with someone i trusted a good friend for example, as sometimes the things i was getting so absorbed in werent as bad as i thought but other times they were much worse than i thought. i find that bipolar tricks you a lot, whenever ur feeling alryt you have the answers to these problems and as soon as ur mood drops you dnt seem to have the answers anymore and to be honest i still havent figured out which one is true with me. Feel free if you want to ask nething
