Best treatment for bipolar depression with anxiety?
Hello,
I've been experiencing severe bouts of depression on and off with horrible anxiety since I was about 14 years old. I'm now 21 and I was diagnosed as bipolar II last year and since then I've been experimenting with different medications with my psychiatrist to help find the best possible treatment. I tried lamictal for a while but it didn't work for me and I think it made my anxiety worse. Basically I'm inquiring to see what has worked best for others for the depression and the crippling anxiety? Currently I'm on 600mg of lithium and am temporarily taking Xanax daily (never more than 2 mg). What are your thoughts on lithium? Does it help depression and anxiety? What other medications have worked for you?
