Bi -polar 2 symptoms I have

I seem to be very forgetfull, at least that's what my husband tells me.  I feel confused at times and clear at times.  It may go with my mood.  I use to be the best speller and can't think of how to spell simple words.  I get frustrated.  I'm on depakote, Lamictal 100mg, Lexapro, and amitriptyline for pain from my fibromyalgia.

I've been on both Lamictal and Dep at the same time - my pdoc seemed to think it was just fine.

I know that when I am in a low or high mood my memory gets slurped down a tube. I have the memory of an elephant, or at least I had.  I had my Lamictal upped and it has in general (when I'm not in pain) raised my mood and it's made me have clearer thinking.
You are on a pretty low dose of Lamictal, it could be that you aren't in a "therapeudic range" for that or some of your meds, but that's only a guess, you should speak to your pdoc about your memory issues. It could be just a simple adjustment of meds.

Yes people can be forgetful when they are rapid cycling. The again the combination of medications you taking can cause some cognitive confusion. Hard to say. Its odd to be on Depakoate and Lamictal both as when I was transferred there was a required two week break by my psychiatrist as he said they interact. Don't know if that's required but since it was taken as a precaution when I was prescribed it (not just for me but as a rule) it may be something to ask about. Generally Lamictal has less cognitive confusion but 100 mg. is a subclinical dose. You could ask your psychiatrist more about this and find out more on the websites we have linked such as "Depression Central".
