Celexa comments??

Ever since I switched from Zoloft to Celexa, I have had sweats, mood swings again, very dark thoughts.  I've been on it for about a month now,,a few days ago, I started getting a ringing sensation in my ears.  Anyone ever had responses like this to Celexa/Citalopram?

I had super bad night sweats while taking celexa. Ringing in the ears is also a symptom. With any AD, you run the risk of a bad reaction and possible suicidal ideation. When I first started, my psychiatrist prescribed ativan in case my anxiety initally worsened.

Hi I found Citalopram a very disturbing drug, as soon as I took it I felt like I had been drugged with somethimg, I heard noises and felt very paranoid. I was ok with zoloft though apart from some agitation.
Citalopram is meant to be very good for anxiety and depression but I didn't like it all and my doctor didn't like me on it either.
Anti depressants aren't always a good idea for people with bipolar especially without a mood stabiliser, my pdoc won't give anyone with bipolar any Ad's, as they can bring on mania, mixed episodes and rapid cycling.
I think a month is a fair amount of time to test a new med, so you could go back to the doctor and explain that you really don't feel well on them and discuss a plan of action.
I hope you find the right med for you :)
