Could this be bipolar?

by ChelleChelle, Oct 17, 2007 07:18PM
My 3 year old daughter has night terrors, night sweats, and is extremely moody.  If you tell her no, sometimes she's fine with it...or sometimes she'll start whining and throwing a fit like a normal 3 year old...but there are OTHER times when she flat out tantrums like she's out of control.  Her behavior is very similar to the behavior in her night terrors - shaking, seeming like she's somewhere else, screaming/crying, etc.  At these times, it "feels" like it's chemical and she has no control over it.  I've read online that tantrums like these and night terrors are sometimes linked to bipolar.  But, she's so young, I'm afraid I won't find a doctor who would take it seriously with her age.  Thoughts?

Wouldn't hurt to have it checked out, but I'd also have a chemical panel ran on her.  Sounds like thyroid disorder, diabetes, just to list a couple of possibilities.  Another possibility I can think of is seizures.  Had a friend on another panel who's son would start by getting really upset and then would go into a seizure.

Would not mess around with it if I was you.  Would have my little one at the drs.  But I would be ready to fight for her b/c most drs think that 3 year olds are just that way.  Seems you have to fight for almost any dr to listen to any legit claim at any age.

Good luck.  She is a really lucky little girl to have you for a mother and know you will do the very best you can for her.

strip DAIRY, SUGAR and GLUTEN from her diet...

this whole BIPOLAR thing is just too much... when i was 13 they called it ADHD.. isnt it funny that the medical profession loves to create a new "DIAGNOSIS" every 10 years or so its called something else...  I dont believe it.. bIpolar disorder doesnt exist. but people do.. and so does mik infused with GROWTH HORMONES and other drugs that makes the cow produce more milk.. these HORMONES end up in your child..  grow your own food and youd never have these problems.... the food supply is tainted if you ask me.. go ahead and call me bipolar all u want.. but there is something seriously wrong in North America.. and if u ask anyone with half a brain, the problem begins with the North American Diet.. Only in North America will u have non-nutritious foods, packaged and pawned  off to be good for you when in fact they are quite the opposite.. poision....... ruining peoples lives and bodies...
remove milk from her diet.. find a way to do it. remove sugar-filled non-nutritious products... remove breads that are nutritionally poor...  Chicken + Rice... Fish....
Stay away from the dairy at all costs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
