DEPOKOTE AND ADD

How does depakote make u feel. I was prescribed it for add and mild bipolar. I wanted adderall (adderrall) due to taking it in the past self med my self ......     but worked wonders.. ...  iam not depressed i just dont have any motivation and my fous and concentration is in outer space. Always did bad in school and college   1.6 gpa. iam 37 now. I had a second opinion and both docs said depokote. Doc wants me to try it. iam very fit  6'1  195lbs. Like to lift weights and play ball, but need alot of stimulants to get me going and out of bed. HELPPPPPPPP  ANY GOOD OPINIONS OUT THERE.  I thought it was low Test at first.

  Yes when I was prescribed Depakoate I experienced some sedation and weight gain. I also found that it was more effective for mania than depression and I was told that aspect was not uncommon but each person responds differently to each medication.

Just took on day 2, iam very calm all day so far. Day1  didnt feel nothing. Iam not bi-polar.... iam way more adhd,  so far this drug has help me with focus but kinda out of it. Feel like my metabolism has gone way down. Not sure if this drug is for me yet,  Thinking concerta or adderall (adderrall).  But will give this drug a chance week or so at best, next doc appt is Oct 4th 2011.

Just like all meds for mental illness, you shouldn't expect a change for several weeks. If you are calm on day 2, then it is you, not the drug. Also, Depakote has to reach an effective range in your blood stream which means you will have blood tests to see if you are in the therapeutic range.
