Diagnosed Bi Polar 8 yr old

My grandaughter (51 lbs- age 8) was diagnosed Bi Polar.  Approximately two weeks ago, she was prescribed the lowest dosage of Respiradol, then cut in half.  She started some involuntary slow eyelid closures with a squint, which have increased to approximately 11 in one minute.  The doctor just took her off the meds today.  The doctor thinks the movements will stop in one day to two weeks.  We are very worried that these could be permanent.  What is your opinion?

I can understand you being worried.  This is a tough diagnosis and I have only had a little bit of experience with early onset bipolar so I cannot say much.  I do agree about the education.  This is going to be tough but knowing it early might give you an advantage.
Also I would trust the dr about the involuntary eyelid movements.  I hope you come back and let us know and please feel free to come back and ask any questions that you may need help with.

I was on respiradol just a little bit ago for quite some time and have abnormal jaw movements.  It has been about two weeks off and symptoms seem to be subsiding.  I hope they go away.  I will pray for you.  I was born with bipolar disorder.  It is a rough diagnosis.  Please educate yourself ALOT and your child growing up.
