Now I take Lithobid, which is a slow release lithium. It tends to not cause as many side effects as regular Lithium. I am also on Seroquel. I was finally able to lose all of the weight I gained. You have to remember that if you are depressed that that itself can cause weight gain from eating emotionally and being too fatigued to exercise. So, for you which is it? Is it the meds, or is it more of an eating disorder?
Most people like to blame their medications for gaining weight because then they do not have to face the fact that they are doing nothing to counter the increase of appetite that a medication may cause.
My suggestion is get some good solid diet advice, get to a gym or at least do some form of cardio excercise every single day. I stress here..You have to watch the types of food you eat. You can excercise everyday, all day long and if your meals consist of "pull around to the second window" you will not lose any fat at all.
Hope this helps....

Of the atypical antipsychotics, Abilify and Geodon have the lowest risk of weight gain.
with no weight gain for the 1st yrs & a 1/2. BUT, have had significant weight gain
for the last 6 mths. I've had water weight for the last 6 mth's, but NO one holds
that much water *L*. I am seriously in weight/water/gain for the last yr. I'd previously
stayed at thhe same weight for 8 yrs with no problem. When I took Zyprexa I had
gained 80 lbs though. But once off it I lost it with work...
hope that helps!
