Do you have more than just mood swings

I have been wanting to ask someone else with BP if they feel, or I should say, not feel what it is I am not feeling. Let me explain.

When I was on Serequel, I had a few moments there where it felt as though my skin had become more sensitive. I actually liked being touched by my wife, as it felt good. Also, on a cold day, I could feel the sun warming my skin, only on the side of the body it was touching. I'm now off of Serequel do to some complications with the drug.

Before and after I was on Serequel, I had never noticed these sensations. I receive no pleasure from having my body rubbed or touched in a gentle way. I'm either hot or cold. Often when I get cold, I crank up the heat and let it blow on me, only to later all of the sudden be to hot.
I had more balance when I was on Serequel, I was wondering if any of you had a similar story.
I am now on Depakote, which have none of these awakenings of senses. It's almost depressing to not have them, I sometimes wish I had never experienced it. The reason I'm on Depakote, is that I have also been diagnosed with having petit mal seizures, and I also suffer from migraines, which seem to coexist with my mania episodes. Ok I'm rambling now, back to business, thanks for any input.

Thanks
John

I found that my medications actually dulled my sensation of touch. I used to really enjoy having my feet massaged - I would feel warm all over! but now it's an almost pointless exercise. Sex is a lot less sensual too :-( Oh well....

There is a thing called somatophorm where the body reacts to how you are feeling emotionally. It can make you feel sick, have phantom pain, and so on. Perhaps it is something similar to that.

You bring up a great question. I wonder about sensations to. while im not taking any meds yet as i"m newly diagnosed. there is many different changes. sometimes touch feels so good to me and it has a calming effect. It can be just a touch by anyone like on the hand . at other times I have such extreme sensations that I can feel the nerve messages traveling through my body and its so intense that I cant stand to be touched at all and I get really irritated when I am touched and of course there days where I just feel numb nothing.
