First time Paxil user

Ok i'm a 25 year old male with a history of depression and social anxiety. Took Zoloft for a few weeks when I was 13 but pretty much refused it after that because I wanted to be a difficult child.  Suffered for many years and today went to a doctor and was prescribed 30mg paxil. Tonight I noticed my eyes were dialated.  I had a little dry mouth earlier but no other side effects.  Does this does seem high to start off with? I really want to give this a chance b/c my quality of life is pretty bad, but don't want to damage my body in the process.

Hi, I am a 29 year old Female and I tried Paxil before, but it did not agree with me at all.  I started on 10-20 mg, I forget.  I gave it 2 weeks until I told my doctor that it was not working right.  It actually made me worse.

If you just started the drug today, I would wait about 2 weeks to get into your system.  Write down all of the side affects ect.. so that you can tell your doctor.  I can't tell you if 30 mg is too much for you to start with.  Everyone is different and this is what your doctor thinks is best for you, even though it may not actually be.

Taking antidepressants has always been a wait a see game.  It took forever for me to get on the right drug and dosage until I started to feel better.  If after 2 weeks you don't feel better I would call your doctor.  Don't be scared to call him at any time and let him know how you feel.  Otherwise, he should have made you an appointment to see him in about 4 weeks, you can talk to him then also.

If 30 mg is too much for you, you may ask him to lower the dosage and see how that works.  Also, do not raise or lower the dosage yourself, ever.  Talk to the doctor first.  Hope this helped.  Any other questions I can help you with let me know.
