Flu Shot Blues

Flu Shot Blues

Got my Swine Flu Shot yesterday...feeling kind of blue.
Anybody else have the same experience?

And with all the dusty road construction going on...I've been getting really bad sinus headaches!
Got Alka-Seltzer Plus. The company changed the formula; they have phenylalanine bitartrate now. I got really edgy this afternoon. I also didn't eat anything all day until 2:30. I thought it was the flu shot or phenylananine in Alka-Seltzer but Antihistamines do suppress your calorie intake for the day! Still feel worn out!

I'm going to get some ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Actually I was going to post a thread on that myself. I didn't know the swine flu shot was out and will get it. But I did get the standard flu shot about a month ago and not only did experience some minor flu like symptoms that went away (as expected) I also felt quite depressed. I didn't know other people experienced it. I didn't want to make people feel down at the time so I just didn't post but I didn't want to partially because I was quite tired and also because I was depressed. It must be some form of temporary reaction to the flu but I'll have to ask my psychiatrist to find out exactly what it is unless people who don't have bipolar experience it as well. Whatever it was like most minor reactions to the flu shot it went away in a day and I am very glad I get the flu shot each year because before I did I used to get the flu and get quite sick from it so its well worth it.

I did feel blue the other day.
I felt really tired today but went out to dinner with my husband tonight which lifted my mood.

I know the "regulars" who get really sick with the flu experience getting down in the dumps too. Your body is run down and its trying to recover.

You can get down in dumps after having surgery too.

My doctor recommended that I get the flu shot so I stay in synch...if you know what I mean..

Didn't get the Swine Flu Shot, but I did get the regular flu shot at the beginning of the month.  Felt like s**t for a few days, but that's par for the course.

I haven't been vaccinated for the flu but I also haven't caught it in years.  I can also go for years without catching a cold even but I have chronic bronchitis so colds hit me a lot harder than a person without that.  It's only a matter of time I guess before I catch the flu.  Don't ask me what I'm doing to avoid catching this stuff, I worked around people cleaning up after them in bathrooms and such for four years and never caught anything except a cold once.

My husband works with military recruits. They bring in everything from all over the country. So we have develop a good immune system.

Right now, I'm experiencing a bout of depression for the last three hours.
I'll ride out this wave out. It's not a mixed mood just your good ole depression.

these seasonal (or any) flu shot do give you a mild case of the flu..this is how you're system builds an immunity to that particular flu!!...therefore as with any flu mild or otherwise most do feel crappy for a few days others experience a full blown flu.
I worked in the Health industry for 20 yrs where all employee's were required to get the shot yearly...and saw a variety of reactions.

BTW....I'm from Canada and the latest articles in our newspapers are saying that health officals are now thinking that the seasonal flu vaccine is MAYBE what is CAUSING some people to be more susceptible to the H1N1 virus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now isn't that reassuring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Are you getting this same report in the US???

lol this is why I don't really listen to scientific studies or anything.  One day they say things like Teflon will give you cancer but then they turn around and say there's nothing of concern.  I actually wrote a somewhat short rant on my website about it.
