I like cold weather and the time it gives me to sit down and read or just watch a movie.  But I am anxious to get my hands in the dirt and start planting.  Have been talking about burning off the garden and getting it tilled the first time. ; )

Some of my annuals that I had in my flower bed out front are still alive!  Can you believe that?  They were suppose to freeze off, but they are thriving and just quit blooming in December.  My daffodills are coming on strong.  But they usually bloom in Jan. or Feb.  Last year I think it was in March, but it's not uncommon for me to have pictures of them in bloom in our one and only snow of the year.

I can't keep any rose bushes alive here.  Guess it's the clay soil.  They all get black spot and before you can touch it it goes systemic.  Spent over $100 one year trying to kill it out and keep them alive.  So now I just plant new ones every year.  They don't get as big, but they're prettier without all the black.

Got some farm antiques--rake, sickle bar mower, ripper--and am going to make a big place to put them in and fill it with mulch and pots of flowers to grow around it and ivy to grow thru it.  Cannot wait to get started on that!!!

Am talking about all this, but at the moment I can barely get up the energy to sweep my own kitchen. :(  Go to the dr tomorrow to have labs done and meds adjusted then to gyno next week for possible endometriosis.  So I think if I get all this mess taken care of I will feel better and up to doing more.  Then I may just be out there in the cold working on the stuff I can.

Take care and try to cheer up.  In Oklahoma we probably won't have to wait too long until we can plant some of the hardier things.  Lettuce will be very soon.  Do you ever start the things in your house?  I get ansy and do that some times.  It's great to have some things getting ready to go in the ground at first chance.

Take care.
