Helpful Websites For Bipolar Disorder?

by ILADVOCATE, Dec 10, 2008 04:45PM
I always post the same websites for information and referral as regards bipolar disorder but I know people have their own. Perhaps we could post the ones we find most useful (understanding that we should put in search phrases not links because of policy) as long as they are medically valid (naturally they don't have to be about treatment but anything that relates to bipolar, support groups are good as well). People could add to this thread over time, each time someone finds a new one.
I'll start. NAMI people are familiar with. Narsad is good for updates on current research. The National Empowerment Center is more consumer oriented. "Depression Central" is an excellent resource for all mood disorders. I've spoken about independent living centers for practical advocacy. To find the one near you in the U.S. (there are ones in other countries as well) google "complete list of independent living centers" and that calls up the link. There's one in every country of every state. And "psychmeds123" calls up all new psychiatric medications in development and updates itself. The site psycheducation.org has a lot of helpful information and a complete list of all medications currently available used as mood stabilizers.
Feel free to add your own until we get a complete list.

There will be a list of useful webistes on the "Welcome" post which will be permanently posted on the forum very soon.  As long as this is passed by the MedHelp managers.

So if its ok with everyone I shall keep an eye on this thread and include them in the welcome note.

:-)
