Hypomania??

I was diagnosed with Bipolar II disorder in November 2011. I was put on Lamictal 100mg 2 times daily,,Seroquel 300mg at bedtime and Cymbalta 60mg daily. The last week and a half Ive been in a crappy mood,,wanting to sleep all the time and just feel like I have no energy. Everything sets me off and Im getting angry and bitter again. I was doing sooo well on these meds. I have gained weight from the seroquel and that weighs on me literally. Is this what the hypomania phase is? How long does it last?

This may not help at all, but when I have my period is when my symptoms are the worst. Perhaps you may notice that your crappiest days are around the time of the month that you get your period. If this is the case, perhaps you can talk to your doctor about getting your hormones in balance. Well, good luck.

A person can have feelings of extreme anger but also aspects of depression during a mixed state such as an agitated mixed state which is a combination of mania and depression. Generally when a person experiences hypomania they have feelings of elation and similar feelings to a full manic state but less so. Sedation can be a side effect of some medications but sleep disruption can be part of all aspects of bipolar. Some medications work better on mixed states and rapid cycling (going from manic to depressed in a short time) better than others. However only a psychiatrist would understand the specifics of all this but it would be worth discussing this with them.
