Hypomanic & Hating It

I have been hypomanic due to lack of sleep.  Well I finally went to my pdoc and she gave me some sleeping pills and raised my topomax (topamax) dosage to level me out again.  Just as I am getting back to normal, I get a sinus infection with chest congestion!  My family doc gave me antibiotics and mucinex.  Well, the mucinex is making me feel exactly the same way I was when I wasn't sleeping again, I am hypomanic again!  And, I can't stop taking it for fear of bronchitis or pneumonia.  

I don't really have a question.  I guess I just needed to get this out and get a little sympathy.

Have your doctor speak to your psychiatrist to see if there is another option as regards medications that won't cause it. If not just pull through and keep in touch with your psychiatrist in case it gets worse. I have had to take antibiotics that interacted with medication and made me psychotic but I needed them so that's what I did. My sympathies.
