Is my wife affected with Bipolar??

by Balaji64, Sep 28, 2008 11:31PM
We have been married for 17 years now. Ours was an arranged marriage. Since day one I have always felt that my wife could snap (meaning break down) anytime. My wife used to cry quite often (still does) during the initial phase of our marriage. For the first 3 years of our married it was always a case of me not being in a proper job or not being a professionally qualified person etc. then it shifted and she started complaining about "herslf" being incapable of bearing a child. that was when I decided that we MUST have one immediately. We have a lovely daughter now.

When my wife gets angry, she loses control and breaks things around her. She initailly tended to beat me, expressing her dissatiafaction for me (basicallly professinally & economically). I remember her sitting and sucking her thumb one day. I could do nothig. This was about 13 years back when she was at home not workign taking care of our daughter. She tends to build a very detailed scene about any incident and i found that many of these details she specified never happened. she was imaginging them.

She seems to have heavy meed swings and once she starts compaining/abusing (some times with foul language) she cannot stop for atleasrt 2-3hours

every week end is becomning a nightmare nowadays.

After 17 years I am tired! i really do not know what to do except pray. I cannot think of going to another woman. This is my wife I am talking about but I have realised that I do not seem to have the strength that I used to have, any more. I have started to suspect Bipolar.
