Lamictal itchy trunk rash question

I have been on lamictal for 2.5 years, without any rash like symptoms.  18 months ago, I developed MRSA from a blister like sore from bike riding. (I race)  I had a good DR. who identified it quickly, and put me on 2 different antibiotics after going in and enlarging and cleaning wound.  I healed from that after 5 weeks of treatment, and have felt fine ever since.

I have been feeling alot of stress in the past four months, which I am working to alleviate, but in the meantime, I have developed a very, very itchy trunk rash that has gotten progressively worse over the past  4 months.  I tried benadryl and claritin, with no relief.  I was recently prescribed zyrtec 2 days ago, which has helped a great deal already.

I have 2 questions.  One:  Everything I have ready says that it is rare to get a rash related to lamictal after bering on the lamictal for so long, and that the rash is probably not related to lamictal.  I am wondering though, if the fact that I had MRSA, has compromised my immune system, especially with the steress I am feeling, and that having had MRSA might make me more susceptible to rashes, or more susceptible to a reaction from the lamictal.

2nd question:  Lamictal has been like a miracle drug for me.  It is all I am taking, 200 mg. and I am very leery of going off of it.  Do you know if this type of trunk rash develops into something systemic?  I have never had any type of fever or anything other than severe itching.  (I also work out and sweat alot, and wonder if the itching is worse due to that).

I have seen my Dr. who is keeping me on the zyrtec, and having me ramp down to 150 mg of the lamictal, while also haaving me go in for some blood work.

I have read that some people are on zyrtec along with lamictal (or other anticonvulsants), for long periods of time, and wonder if you have heard of that.

Hi. Please get that checked by your doctor. I believe you about what you read, but I have also read that you can get Steven-Johnson's syndrome at any time even after you've been on it for a while, it even says that in the packaging. There's also folliculitis. Google images it and see if it looks like what you have. Just don't take any chances. I am on it too, and I itch as well. Please tell me, does your hair fall out? Did your scalp hurt? Did it itch too? My doctor just increased mine to 150 even though it's made me half bald in 3 months. I'm scared! I just developed a rash on my chest and wonder if it's related to my 150. I love Lamictal and never want to go off. There's nothing else that's so symptom free, but the hair loss is devastating. I cry everytime I look in the mirror.
