Life under Memory recovery therapy

My name is Robin Rea and I'm bipolar. I'm not related to the field of psychology or psychiatry, but I've been in therapy for 3 years and I was able to describe to my psychiatrist the whole process of memory recovery therapy, which is very extensive, and she congratulated me for deciphering that my whole cognitive had been restructured. I have a lot of great memories recovered, such as my best friend once telling me that she was madly in love with me, and she would tell me tons of things about love, then she would give me anxiety for me to forget and have this memories and feelings repressed. When I went manic, I started remembering them and I felt madly in love with her to this day.
So I'm taking therapy to recover even more memories about what people told me through a complex system of words while I "escaped" my mind. My best friend uses her facebook to use images to help me remember even more. I had no idea that she loved me, I realized this after 3 year and she was willing to wait for me.
The downside of this is that you don't get to live a normal life until you recover your memories. People remind you, then make you forget, they remind you again and they make you forget through trauma or anxiety, I lived like this for over a decade and I had no idea. The way I realized this was only through going manic and FINALLY taking medication. I was bipolar since I was 13 and never took medication, so I was constantly unaware.
I agree that memory recovery therapy is unethical, for all that has to happen, but it is effective if the right people treat you, like my best friend who is now my girlfriend. So I'm living a new life and it does feel like I have a new one. It feels so rewarding after living under depression as well, so if you ever have any questions about how the process of memory recovery works under my experience, please feel free to ask.

Thank your for your reply.

It's really hard to balance bipolar and control it. Bipolar consume time and life. I'm not sure how I have the power to control my life while the bipolar symptoms still specially depression and low moods.

Are yoga and meditation really work before meds work? I find it difficult to set in one area and clear my mind while exercise increase my symptoms.

1.- My medication process is constantly monitored, I have appointments with the psychiatrist every three weeks now, and at the beginning it shifted from 3mg of risperdone and two 500 mg tablets of epival to now 2mg risperdone and one 500 mg epival. Don't suspend it!!! I stopped taking it because the memories where just such an experience of adventure that I went manic during my recovery, and again I started having trouble with concentrating, focusing and socializing. Medications are a must!!

2.- Well I took two and 1/2 years off from school and work to recover, because it was so intense I could not even socialize. But my psychiatrist recommended me yoga, it requires a type of focus and management from the body that I can assure you, IT WORKS, you can exercise while having a free mind to think simultaneously. Take folic acid, complex B and fish oil and a healthy meal. I recommend that you manage some time for yourself, like spend 1 hour a day talking to yourself out loud and smoke a cigarette. Don't drink alcohol anymore or drugs like marijuana, they are very dangerous to your memory and concentration.
You have to FIGHT IT, and take time off from stress, take your meds, eat healthy, and try to socialize more, thinking about communication skills is important, try to follow conversations and admit that your having an issue following. It's re-learning everything again, it just takes patience and time.
I'll pray for you that you get back on track.
