Does anyone else with manic depression find it extremely difficult to hold down a job?

I use to till I got meds and therapy I have now been at my job for 8 years and thatis a record for me.I am pretty proud of that.I am a jet engine mechanic and I make pretty good money too.I am helping with our countrys defense and I feel important in the work I do.I never felt that way at my many other jobs.I have a degree in interior design but I just got to the point Ididnt care what colr your couch was or what you put on the windows. Its not going to make you famous or popular or rich. Its just a friggin couch for goodness sakes. so I knew then I had to get out of retail.
well I didnt mean to ramble on but the point is even though we are bi p0olar ,we can hold steady jobs, have great marriages, and live life to the fullest.I am living proof of that.I got the help I needed meds and therapy work.

I jumped from job to job to job.  Now on meds I am a very successful stay-at-home mom/housewife.  Seriously, I don't think I could have ever done this job without the help of meds and therapy.  This is the hardest job I've ever done and loved.

Well, I am just as worred as you are Stella.  I just graduated college and trying to find a job until masters school.  I am still having mood swings regularly.  I also do not function too well on little sleep.  I am going to get the job and then let the boss know I have BP and may have some off days.  I hope I get with an understanding company.
