Mood Tracker Journaling--public or private ???

Mood Tracker Journaling--public or private ???

I currently have all my trackers--except my MOOD tracker journals open to public view...
My MOOD journals are set to private....

I am wondering, would I be opening a huge Pandora's box to change that to public? or even to just my friends' view?  Does it HELP anyone, for others to be able to read and comment on your journals???

Are you "protective" of what you journal-- or does it matter????  I have so much DETAIL in most of mine....
(and I wonder if it's even appropriate to share?)

Any and all responses would be much appreciated.

I have all of that private because I just use it to write down an event or something that you can't mark on the tracker. I often don't journal that much recently.

I have mine set to friends only, I have written some pretty personal stuff....but the comments I've had have all been appropriate, and I've had no problems with that.

I know the system censors many words, and I try  to not use them anymore---  but I do have alot of my personal relationship details  ( including intimate & sexual details with my Husband) written in.... So I guess I am just curious if if it would be okay to put out there for comment/etc.... a huge part of my brain says HELLO---NO!!!
But I have seen many others who do post everything... therefore I am in a bit of a quandary.

As long as you are questioning this move, I suggest that you keep it private.  Over time you can come back to your journals and they will have significant messages meant only for yourself.  They will open your eyes to somethings and others you may never give another thought to.  But once your information is out there, it is out there.  You may not want everything exposed to others.  Think it through first.  Listen to your gut feelings too.

I agree with Kathy, it's better not to if you have reservations, because you can always change your mind later, whilst once it's out there that's it. I have always bore in mind when writing that it could be read by my friends, and so have not exposed things I consider too private, and I've later modified entries because they have been too personal. However I've had many a rant and exposed some deep feelings on there, but I guess I'm Ok with that.

I have mine set to public.  I think I've had one person that wasn't a "friend" actually comment on anything anyway.  My journals,,,another story,,,if I write something that is extremely private that I don't want anyone else to see, I change the setting for that entry to "Only Me".
Now watch it, please don't one of you pranksters tell me you can read everything anyway,,,that would totally freak me out.

I would love to have the thoughts and input of others on alot of my mood issues...But I believe I am going to kkep it all private-- unless I have a real problem with something-- then I will post it to the forums. Probably get better results that way anyway.

Thank you all for your thoughts and advice!

It is one thing to write in this forum to communicate with others for some support, or ideas, advice etc.  But your personal journal should be yours alone.
