New here but not new to BP

I'm new to this site, but not new to BP.  I am very discouraged and was advised to start a mood journal.  They all seem so complicated.  Isn't there anything more simple and yet informative?
Peace,

Hi, welcome to the site.  Have you checked the mood tracker on here - click on the "Trackers & Calculators".  It allows you to track your moods, medications and you have the option to keep a journal.  It is very user friendly and will even send you a reminder to fill it in.

Well there are websites on the links page such as "Depression Central" that might be helpful and informative. We all share our experiences here. Personally I've made a full recovery from schizoaffective disorder with an antipsychotic in Phase II FDA study. However, like most people here I have to take a standard mood stabilizer as well. Understanding how your mood fluctuates, that is changes from day to day can help you keep track of warning of signs of when a manic episode will occur or spotting signs of depression. Along with medication and talk therapy and for some cognitive behavioral therapy, spotting signs of when mood changes occur on your own and having coping mechanisms in place or if needed speaking to your psychiatrist is very helpful. That's what the Mood Tracker is for.
