No sleep

I started taking lithium on friday, last nite when i took my dosage I got really weird. I felt depressed and i slept like 2hours last night. Not to mention i felt like throwing up. Can i take xanax to go to sleep? Or has anyone experienced this? I felt like zoned out. I was crying because i wasnt myself. I felt that i was robed of being who I am but I dont want to be the person i use to be but I just feel like i dont know who i am right now. Dont know if im making any sense but thats how i feel.....

I think you should talk to your doctor about how the medicine is making you feel. A psychiatrist that I work with told me that if a medicine is going to make you feel bad it often happens right away. So do call your doctor and tell him/her right away. Don't take any other medicines like sleeping pills without asking your doctor first. You don't want to accidentally take something that is a bad combination. Don't take advice on if something is okay to take over the internet. Just call your doctor.

Thanks i called my doc and my doc set up an apointment for saturday. I started googling a Lithuim and i think I might know what i did wrong. I started a diet yesterday and I read that when starting a diet to talk to doc because your salt levels might be really low and might cause you Lithuim level to be elevated and lots of water is necesary. So i will ask my doc on sat if that was the case.
