Is it possible for an individule to be diagnosed with Austim, ADHD at age 3, and now at nine  reveal signs of Bipolar?

Can these 3 diagnosis be in one individual?

I would check and see if this is not all a form of autism.  If you read the posts from some of the other mothers on here you will see a lot of similarities, I think.

I was bipolar as a child and also had ADHD.

I’m a mom that has been down the same road that it sounds like you and your child is going down. My son is now 7 years old but has been diagnosed with Developmental delays, Absence seizures, SPD, eating disorder- NOS, BP, PDD, and now we are going down the road where doctors are thinking that he has Asperser syndrome.  If you ask me just as a mom I think a lot of the children with BP now days doesn’t just have BP they have a lot of other issues. I think BP is over used and I think there are many things doctors and parents can do to help there children out. I have a post on here called is this what parents of BP children go through, you might want to look at this post I really posted about everything the way my son acted when he was little up to now.
If you have any questions just let me know and I will answer as well as I can. Also your child does see a child psy, and a behavior specialist and is in a special class that works with children with theses issues?  How autistic is your son?  I think having autism is really hard on children when they are growing and getting bigger I know with my son he doesn’t really like other children but yet when he does want to play with others I think it is very frustrating to him and I think he feels overwhelmed a lot of the time So I guess my biggest concern would be is he frustrated and is that causing the symptoms of BP to show up?  Its funny cause I wonder now if my son really truly is BP or is all of these issues that he goes through are from the ASD..  Also what is your child doing that is making you feel like your son might have BP disorder?

good luck and hope this post helped..

It's very common for children diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder to have co-morbid issues. My cousin was diagnosed at 3 in the 1988 with Autism, Bi-polar disorder, OCD and ADHD.

The majority of people that I've personally worked with with developmental disabilities tend to have more than one issue.

Go to autismspeaks.org

they do wonderful things and educate people about autism awareness. best of luck!
