Physical withdrawal from pysch meds?

Hi,
I have been on over 20 medications over the past 12 years and have over the past 4 months discontinued lithium, zyprexa, tegretol and lunesta (with my doctor). I have been 100% off all meds for one week.

Since I started tapering the medications in January (d/c’d zyprexa first ), I have experienced chronic abdominal pain that comes and goes.  With a history of alcohol used that stopped 3 years ago, I still worry about my liver. My labs have all been normal over the years and I had a normal ultrasound a couple of months ago.

There is very little information in the literature regarding physical withdrawal from psychiatric medications, but I was wondering if it is possible to experience pain while coming off these meds.....or is a time for biopsy?
I look healthy, I run, my skin is normal, etc., although I have no appetite.

Yes physical withdrawal symptoms can often occur with psychiatric medications. Did you follow a specific titration schedule for all of the medications that your doctor authorized? Is he checking for any concerns for any returning symptoms during this time? Physical withdrawal symptoms are common with benzos and Lunesta is related to one. I had physical withdrawal symptoms (flu like withdrawal symptoms) when I was transferred from Seroquel to Risperdal) and full body withdrawal symptoms when I discontinued Klonopin too abruptly (which can be dangerous) so actually that is relatively common even if done correctly.
