Oh, I just read that you are pregnant, congrats!! Seroquel is the only drug proven safe for pregnancy, so stick with it and give it a try. It will sedate you for awile. I hated that. I could not move though, when I took it.
I mean this nicely to help you learn thread/forum etiquette. Do not yell at us in these threads. You wrote your message very very late and can not expect everyone to be on their computers on this site ready to answer everyones questions at all times especially in the middle of the night when you posted your original post and then your yelling post. I use this forum several times a day and post questions too! I sometimes have to wait a day or two for answers, but the folks here are just as supportive as I am and always give their insight so I exercise patience, because I know I can trust them to give excellent advice and insight. Now then. I happen to be allergic to Seroquel. I was started on 25 mg. and I could not move and went numb. I had to try it for a few days and it really messed me up. I will never touch it again! For some reason all atypical's cause bad reactions in my body. I guess I am a naturalist due to the fact that Lithium (the one and only natural BP med) is my miracle drug and all I needed with it was the anti-depressent Wellbutrin. I also take a lot of natural suppliments to boost my meds. Pretty amazing for having the worst strain of BP (Bipolar I , mixed state, rapid cycler). It is amazing how different people react to different meds. I was put on ten different meds to try and work with my lithium over this past year and they found that Wellbutrin is the one. Thank God!! It has been a mess. However, I have talked with others that love Seroquel and do excellent on it. It is just trial and error until you find your perfect cocktail!!
I have been on Seroquel for 2 years now. It was the miracle drug for me. It treated my depression and rapid cycling. Lamictal alone was unable to help me, but the combination with Seroquel has kept me stable. Do not consume yourself with worrying about the side effects - just focus on getting better. Try talk therapy as well. Good luck. You will get better, it takes time :)
Though I have not taken it Seroquel is supposed to be good for managing the anger and irritability that often accompanies bipolar.
dont be afraid of the meds. you have to give it a try and many bi poars have done well on seraquel. be sure you are in therapy too.
Love Venora
IS THERE ANYONE THAT WILL TALK TO ME ABOUT BEING NEWLY DIAGNOSED BIPOLAR 2, AND THE PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION SEROQUEL. I HAVE MANNY QUESTIONS AND WOULD LIKE TO SEEK SOME ANSWERS FROM ANYONE ON THIS FORUM. THANK YOU!!
