Seizures caused by medication side effects

Just over a week ago i took a seizure, i have no memory of it happening but was described to me as being like an epileptic fit by my friend that witnessed it. I take effexor and serouquel both of which state seizures can be a sideffect i have been on these for a few months and thought if it was going to happen it would have happened before now. Has anyone ever had a similar type of seizure caused by meds? Also since i had the seizure ive had really bad back pains wakes me up very early everyday and i cant get back to sleep because of the pain. Again has anyone ever experienced this type of sideffect? Thanks

That's an extremely rare side effect but that's not to say you didn't have seizures for another reason. I would speak to a neurologist and get tested with an EEG and other standard tests to see what is going on.

Welcome back Tyzer.  Have you not spoken to your psych or Dr about this?  Did you go to the hospital at the time of the seizure for tests to be carried out.

If you are not being seen by a Dr regarding the seizure then that is more than a little worrying.

As ILAd has said this may not be to do with your medications at all and therefore proper testing needs to be carried out to find out the cause.

Take care
