Thyroid or Bipolar?

by jojo2008, Apr 26, 2008 10:20PM
Where to start....Well I recently found out that I have 5 thyroid nodules but my blood tests came out normal. I was refered to an endo where he ordered antibody tests and am waiting to get them back and an uptake. My problem is I have been having mood swings and feel like im in a fog, im tired easily and alot of people have commented on how cold my hands and feet are? I am struggeling to figure out what is going on with me. I am a 27 yr old female who has had relationship problems and with both men they would say the same things. They said its like your bipolar? One minute your fine and the next your over the top yelling. Is that a sign of bipolar? When I get to the point of yelling its because I feel like im in a fog and tired and no one understands me. Usually within a couple hours im fine again.
My Tsh was 0.94 but im a little confused..can I still have a thryoid problem if my levels are normal? what will happen if my antibodys are high, do I go on medication? and if so can it cause these symptoms? or is it bipolar. If someone can tell me what the signs of bipolar are also it would be greatly appreciated.

No, it's not bp.  It's the thyroid.  YES you can have all the thyroid symptoms and normal blood tests.  Don't let the drs tell you otherwise.  Especially if you have nodules or goiters.

Every symptom you are explaining is thyroid related.  The fog is "brain fog".  I'm going to recommend you go over to the thyroid forum on here.  I'll introduce you over there and since you know brain fog you will be an automatic member of the chicken club.  I'll let them explain, since this is my main domain now.  But I am a lifetime member over there.

You're welcome.

I started a thread over there for you and you already have a big welcome from utahmomma.  I didn't know you had already been there.  Have fun over there with all my good buddies.  You don't belong over here with us.  :-)

Sounds like thyroid but people with bipolar can also have thyroid problems. I've read about it and I have mine checked every 6 months to make sure I don't need to go on thyroid meds too.
Hope you get good news and everything turn out O.K.
