Topomax Generic

Hi,
I used to take the name brand topomax (topamax) but have been taking the generic and don't feel it is helping as well now and wanted to know if anyone else is experiencing this same thing. I lost about 30-40lbs before while on the name brand. Since being off for awhile and going back on the generic, I don't feel this generic is as helpful. Does anyone have the same experience as me?

Yes when I tried the generic of Lamictal as well as many other medications it didn't work as well. The generic is not exactly the same so that can happen. I would suggest (if this is the reason you are taking a generic) putting in an exemption as regards any form of coverage for only generics in your insurance plan by having your psychiatrist write a detailed letter stating that the generic does not work as well as the brand. I was able to do that successfully many times and when I took it to appeal I always received a favorable decision as well.
