finally, the natural question but where from the fishs get it, is by feeding in the sea on plants like linen containing it.
you know well since you are egyptian that the pharaohs used linen to preserve the coffins (mummies) and also adding it to Romman (egyptian plant) to preserve the colours in their cemeteries.
Off-point here it's said that olive oil has also some stabiliztion effect. Religious people say (no proof i suppose) that any plant mentioned in the Koran or Bible has its benefits. You know Greek people live long because of olives, very good for cardiac system. I have some belief that one should use the natural things and to resort to drugs only when you exhaust the natural supplements. i once asked about st john's wort but pdocs will tell you no. i began to suspect that anything that pdocs refuse it means it's good. i haven't tried it yet, but i am heading down the hill right now and don't know what soon i am supposed to do. i am in real panick
i am sure this omega3 got its secret except no pharm company will promote it for obvious reasons
incidentally the egyptians call it (zeit Haar) and pour it on the beans (foul) but i wouldn't recommend this. Apart from not eating foul myself, some pour it on the foul then put the foul on fire to heat it up, which becomes poisonous.
no the best thing is to buy the omega3 or to import it from the USa, they have good ones, also lozava.
But if you insist on flaxoil then it stays outside the fridge for no more than 3 months
Hi Malak
Your questions are really valid.
flaxseed oil (linseed) has got the same ingredients inside like fish oil even more because it contains omega6 in addition this is why the omega3 plus sold in egypt for 14.5 pounds if i remember they add omega6 on top. Also they add vitamin E antioxident so that you get the max profit.
You can of course replace the fish oil by the flax oil, except i don't recommend this for a clear reason. The shops (sirga) which extract flax oil are big cheeters because this has to be extracted col not hot. They extract it while hot to maximize the juice. if extracted hot it harms tremendously it fills the pores it becomes (zeit el-negma) which is used to paint the walls with. And of course nobody is sure whether they extract it hot or cold. At least the sold one is imported from abroad. Of course there is way by which you can tell whether the flax oil is authentic or not, is by putting it into the fridge (freezer) if it's authentic it will remain oily as it is while if it freezes it means it has not been correctly extracted. I tried even the available brand like Isis, they cheet it even. So the best thing is to buy the imported one and packed locally.
eating the seed itself is good except that you can't grind it under your teeth to extract the oil, again it's frustrating after a while..
I've read so many books on omega3-fatty acid there was this german woman budweig (surf the web) who used it to cure cancer, and was taken for being insane. But omega3 is good for freeing cholesterol, adjusting blood pressure, diabetes, osteoporosis and many other things. unfortunetely you have to take it from outside because it isn't metabolized inside our body. what is unfortunate is that I and you live in an undeveloped country where everything is fake. flax oil sold in the usa is not cheap because it's true. there is exist ways to check the insufficiency of omega3 and B12 inside our body. i enquired about the 2nd and apparently there are labs which can check this. i have the feeling that this business of bipolarity soon they will find a solution to it because it's something which to me looks more mechanical than psychological. I posted once saying bipolar or no bipolar its the mania which counts. this is my own belief. Had we not had mania, it might not be that serious.
anyway hope they find something soon because really i began to have suicidal ideation. I wish one day and soon my pyramid get inverted again to the right position
If you ask a pdoc about it he will take you as silly. God has not created an illness except when he provided the medication (in our culture)
thank you Ezz
reading this made me feel there is really hope in the upcoming years to find a relief.......
Do you know if eating flax seeds is like using the oil?? its oil is spoiled easily but eating the seed itself over some salad is safer BUT DOES IT HAVE THE SAME EFFECT???
I meant to comment earlier but this is a cool find. Maybe it will open up an understanding to the way other psych meds work as well in the long run.
Good find, thanks! I knew that lithium has been reported to have neuroprotective effects, but it's really interesting that they have found some sort of link between lithium and omega-3. When taking lithium, I always reminded myself that at least it was good for my brain, even if it might not be so great for my kidneys in the long run. For the past month or two I've been taking a high quality omega-3 supplement, so hopefully it's doing something good! It's interesting how the mechanisms of action behind many (most perhaps?) drugs and treatments that the psychiatric community relies so strongly on (and that often prove to be quite effective) are not yet fully understood.
