Very quiet here lately, how is everyone?

Hi all,
I haven't been around much lately, my moods have been erratic and reactive to events, and when I haven't been moody I've been busy, with the kids and the house and garden..
I've been so tearful and emotional, but then none of my moods have stuck around for long, each day I've gone to bed and woken up different..
I've been on Lorazepam for a week, which has helped but I only have 1 tablet left and I'm worried the agitation and anger will be back...
Anyhoo, I just checked in here and it seems really quiet, just wondered how everyone is? just fancied a catch up! we all have questions to ask all the time, I just wanted to know how everyone is doing?
I hope it's quiet because everyone is busy having fun and enjoying themselves!

I can't stand noise too, especially the gaming stereo from my neighbor. Even my mom's tv is getting the beat down from me these days. So basically I have less noise irritability and more peace. Sometimes when I sleep I would put on ear plugs to filter out ALL noise... Am I overdoing it?

I really can feel my mood going up down in a day. Is this normal? I hope I don't become crazy any time. I have had episodes of manic behavior and sometimes I would hit myself. My psy says I am BP type II, but I think I am in between. I am learning what's my trigger points now and to avoid them frequently. I know shopping helps me ;-)). Anyway, I hope everyon is fine here and thank u for listening.

Yes I just got the Klonopin in brand form (I didn't have other options in the meantimes so I had to take the generic) delivered to my apartment from the pharmacy as I am physically homebound. In me it helps treat tardive dystonia and dysphagia, atypical catatonia (of which they are still determining the cause) and I wasn't aware of it but it has a mood stabilization property as well that I was benefiting from it. I didn't realize it but I was starting to have standard issues with mood swings (feeling sped up, marked insomnia, loss of judgment). I will be glad to see all this further mitigated again.
I was originally prescribed Klonopin as a standard side effect pill. The standard options from what I am aware of are anti-cholinergics (of which Artane is just one), benzodiapenes, beta-blockers (such as Inderal and Atenolol) and Symmetryl. Temporary movement disorders can be very discomforting so it would be worthwhile to discuss available options with your psychiatrist as to which might best help and that you might be able to tolerate. I did also read that at least one of the next generation antipsychotics as I am study for has entered Phase 3 and should the research continue favorably as they believe it will has a target date for approval within the next few years so hopefully some of these issues will be a thing of the past in the near future.

Yes the mania is not comfy due to repetitve thinking and paranoia. I am exhausted, its nice to see someone understands that.

@Stephanie, Yes I find music helps too, but sometimes I cannot deal with any extra noise as it can make me angrier, but then other times it helps block things out! I am the same, where I just seem to be spoiling for a fight, I just have to stay away from people and give myself a talking to LOL but it's hard when people won't leave you alone..How are you?

@bradian, Hi, I am nosey really LOL, not really, I like to hear how everyone is doing on here, it really seems to help me, it boosts me to know I'm not alone with these symptoms, and also it helps me to believe me that things will pass, it can't be bad forever.
Sorry to hear you are battling aswell, I take it the mania is not of the pleasurable variety? it's so hard when things just change so rapidly, it makes me feel a bit paranoid that people think I'm making it up, as they don't understand how you can be so depressed one minute the complete opposite the next..I hope your meds kick in soon, its not easy to be patient but I find that meds seem to work quicker to control my mania than they do to control depressive symptoms..I really hope this is the case for you, you must be exhausted.

@ILADVOCATE, that doesn't sound good with the Klonopin, how does the generic make you feel? is it not as strong or something or just totally different to what you are used to with the Klonopin? It can be a battle with the meds sometimes, even the simplest of requests can take days to sort out, I'm so glad together with your family you got this matter sorted out, although I bet waiting for next week is taking ages, what are you taking in the meantime?
I was given the Lorazepam by an emergency doctor over the telephone, because I had been prescribed this horrible med for side effects ( Trihexyphenidyl ) and it sent me crazy, paranoia, severe agitation, depression, so they gave me Lorazepam as a short term measure, but I have been unable to get an appointment with my Pdoc to see where we go from here, I think I'm better off just putting up with the uncontrolled movements as everybody I have spoken to about it says it won't do me any harm!!
It is the same here with Benzodiazepines, they won't just do a refill, if I saw a doctor they would probably give me them for another week or so, but they are reluctant to give benzo's for longer than a fortnight..it's really annoying as they don't offer any alternative either!
Thankyou for your support it means a lot!

I hope everyone is having a nice day! and if not hang in there folks :~)

Yes I haven't posted here in a while because the brand version I use of Klonopin was temporarily taken out of distribution and the generic didn't work to help me both physically and mentally. The family worked with me to contact the company and it is finally back in production and there is a delay due to the holidays but the pharmacy will have it back next week. I do find it helpful to have the support of my family and friends and try to help them in return when I can. I find that approach works. I do agree its important to keep track of medications and when they will run out so that there is enough left at all times. I use a chart for that that I keep updated. In the U.S. benzodiazepenes are in a special class and cant be refilled so as I see my psychiatrist every 3 weeks he gives me another prescription when I am due. I am not sure if the same regulations apply in the U.K. but it would be worthwhile to find out as that is one class of medication they might not be able to write refills on but would have to write a new script each time. Keep us updated. You have our support.

Its very sweet of you to ask everyone how they're doing. :)

I have been rapid cycling and am in the middle of another medication change. Mania seems to be the biggest problem. I know I need to give the meds time to work though.

I hope you start feeling more stable soon. Hugs! -Bradian
