We need more accessible support groups

by amypoe34, Jul 19, 2009 08:25PM
Hello everyone. I hope you are all doing ok. I feel alittle better today not as bad suicidal but still depressed. I REALLY wish there was a support group in my area, however, no one has ever been successful in getting one together. For myself it would help tremendously, that is the best way for me to be able to cope with things. It does horrible damage when you just bottle it all up inside and that is my worst habit of all is that i do bottle things up. I think it would do wonders to be able to talk with other folks with the same issues. It would help teach us better coping skills and at least get it off our chests.

There should be support groups in your area. Of course there is NAMI and for general disability support groups I have mentioned independent living centers and there are often mood disorders support groups. Do an online search and they could inform you what is nearby. There are often support groups associated with outpatient clinics as well for a start.
