Weight issues! I need help and input

by MaliaGrl09, Feb 04, 2008 01:08AM
I didn't get a response from anybody before so I'm going to write another blog.  I have gained a total of 20 pounds on different medications used to treat my bipolar.  I finally feel like I can think again.  My concentration is good, im not irritable, im energetic, im not engrossed in self-loathing at past events, honestly, mentally I'm doing very well.  My weight however has hit a road block.  I am gaining very slowly.  I'm probably 130 pounds on a 5'1" frame.  I've heard of people who have gained much more than me, but i'm still concerned.  Does anybody have any suggestions for to regulate my weight better?  I'm trying to do weightwatchers and run 4 days a week.  It doesn't seem to be enough though.

I too am having weight issues with my meds.  I told my doctor about it and he has sinced switched me up with some different meds they don't have these side effects.  I haven't seen any improvement yet, but he just weened me off of one med and onto another so we will see.  I am doing weightwatchers too, and last week I gained 2 lbs and I hardly ate anything and exercised!!  I know how frustrated you are, but do tell your doctor about it and see if there is something he/she can do.  I do hate it because almost all of them say weight gain as a side effect, but there are some that do not.  Hope this helps a little.

aways best to talk with your Dr's.  Ask about the BMI issue. Or google it.
