What is Mood Dissorder NOS?

I just got out of the hospital...they said I was manic. I was diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder and now they changed my diagnosis to Mood Disorder NOS. Does anyone know what that is?

It stands for Not Otherwise Specified, it means you are in the Bipolar range but they dont know where because you have only had one manic probably, you dont fit the criteria for BPI or BPII specifically, thats my understanding anyway. Hope fully now you can get the right help at the end of the day it doesnt matter where you fit it just helps to taylor your treatment. Good Luck

Thanks for your reply. I am really glad they are starting to listen and getting all my symptoms treated. I was just wondering what that diagnosis had to do with being manic since it was not, or seemed to not be a bipolar diagnosis. Your reponse has made it more clear and makes more since.
